01) WHY do we need to sign up for mass?
During the COVID-19 pandemic, the parish is required by the Archdiocese and the Province to:
- Limit the number of persons in the church and enforce social distancing.
- Keep names and telephone numbers for 14 days to enable contract tracing if an attendee tests positive for COVID.
It’s an excellent way to help organize the volunteers needed for each mass.
- As you plan when to attend mass, check to see where you may be needed!
02) WHO can sign up for mass?
Everyone is welcome at mass.
Anybody can sign up.
03) IS THERE A DEADLINE before each mass to sign up?
Not exactly. You can sign up until the mass start time.
But PLEASE try to sign up at least an hour before mass
- to speed up check-in
- to make things so much easier for the check-in volunteers
Always sign up, even at the last minute
- to know whether the church will be full
- to know whether any volunteer roles are unfilled
- to help the parish comply with Provincial and Archdiocese contact tracing requirements during the COVID-10 pandemic
- to assist the hardworking volunteers
04) I have NO INTERNET access. How can I sign up for mass?
Easy! Contact the parish office to sign up.
05) HOW do I sign up FAMILY MEMBERS SITTING TOGETHER?
Easy! Sign up all at once with a single phone number and email address.
On the “Mass Sign Up” page:
- Click your Role for the mass of your choice
- Click “Submit and Sign Up” button at the bottom of the page
On the “Sign Me Up” page where you enter your signup info:
- Enter the names of family members sitting with you under “Name(s) of others included (please add to the Quantity)“
- Change the “Quantity” from 1 to the total family members (including yourself.
Example: Yourself, spouse and 2 children
– Type their names under “Name(s) of others included”
– Change the Quantity to 4 - Enter you own name, email and phone number.
- Click the “Sign Up Now” button at the bottom of the screen.
06) I signed up for mass, but I WON’T BE ABLE TO ATTEND.
If you have signed up for a mass, and you know you can’t make it please delete your signup as soon as possible so other people can attend.
Three ways to change or delete your signup:
- If you provided your email address when you signed up, you will have received an confirmation email (check your junk or spam folder).
Click the “Edit my sign up” link in the confirmation email. - If you don’t have your confirmation email,
click the “change your signup” link on the “Sign Up to Attend Mass” page. - Contact the parish office for assistance.
07) HOW can I CHANGE or CANCEL (delete) my signup?
Three ways to change or delete your signup:
- If you provided your email address when you signed up, you will have received an confirmation email (check your junk or spam folder).
Click the “Edit my sign up” link in the confirmation email. - If you don’t have your confirmation email,
click the “change your signup” link on the “Sign Up to Attend Mass” page. - Contact the parish office for assistance.

08) I’m going to mass as a VOLUNTEER (musician, usher, etc.) Do I NEED TO SIGN UP?
YES!
- Signing up shows up whether the required volunteer positions are filled for each mass. USE THE SIGN-UP SYSTEM TO SEE WHEN YOU ARE NEEDED as you decide when to attend mass.
- The PARISH IS REQUIRED to record your presence at mass for COVID-19 contact tracing.
09) Does a VOLUNTEER (Usher, Musician, etc.) also need to SIGN UP AS ATTENDEE?
NO, just sign up as your volunteer role.
Volunteers are assumed to be attending mass, and accounted for accordingly in the total number of persons in the building.
Attendees are the people attending mass, but not filling any volunteer position.
10) Can I sign up for MULTIPLE VOLUNTEER ROLES?
You’re multi-tasking at a mass!
Musician and Cleaner? Cleaner and Usher?
YES! Sign up for both.
Remember, if you sign up as any volunteer role, DO NOT sign up as Attendee.
11) WHY does SignUpGenius require MY PHONE NUMBER?
The parish is required by the Province (and mandated by the Archdiocese) to keep names and phone numbers for 14 days to enable COVID-19 contact tracing.
- Information will be provided to Alberta Health Services only if an attendee becomes a confirmed case for COVID.
12) WHY does SignUpGenius ask for MY EMAIL ADDRESS?
If you prefer, you can omit your email address.
But if you enter your email address:
- You will receive a confirmation email for your signup.
- Your confirmation email will contain a clickable link where you can change or cancel your signup.
- If you need to cancel or change your signup but have deleted your confirmation email, your email address will still enable to locate your signups.
Otherwise you will have to call the office to make changes.
13) Can I sign up for multiple future masses?
YES!
You can sign up for any mass that appears in the signup list.
14) Do I need to create my own SignUpGenius account?
NO, that’s completely optional, NOT necessary to register for mass.
If you do create your own SignUpGenius account (based on your email address)
- when you are logged in you will not have to enter your email and phone number every time you sign up for mass.
