Consecration of Russia & Ukraine to the Immaculate Heart of Mary

Please join in praying the consecration of humanity to the Immaculate of Mary.

Pope Francis has invited Bishops to participate in the consecration of humanity, in particular of Russia and Ukraine, to the Immaculate Heart of Mary. The Holy Father’s celebration of peace will take place on Friday, 25 March 2022 at 5:00 PM (Rome).

His Grace, Archbishop Smith, will be in Rome at this time and plans to participate in the celebration in person, circumstances permitting. Parishes are invited to participate in their own ways, as circumstances allow. Holy Name Parish will have a Mass at 7pm on March 25th, and the consecration will be prayed after Mass.

Please take a moment to read this letter from the Holy Father, along with the Act of Consecration to the Immaculate Heart of Mary.

The Archdiocese of Edmonton has also received new information regarding the United for Ukraine support drive. The Polish Hall will only be receiving donations until March 24; the organizers have yet to find a new location for drop-off items on an ongoing basis. In light of this new information, it is suggested that those who wish to contribute to the relief effort continue to donate through the Ukrainian Eparchy, or through any of the other various avenues listed on our website.

Through the intercession of the Immaculate Heart of Mary, may God’s mercy be poured out on the earth and the gentle rhythm of peace return to mark our days.
