Parish News, first named Parish Blog, was one of a number of let’s-toss-this-in-and-see-where-it-goes features included when this website was first created.
It evolved into a proof-of-concept, a tool to:
- Publish parish events, using interesting colourful formats
- Expand information in the parish bulletin, where space is limited
- Include appropriate clickable external links
- Provide news from the archdiocese and other external sources
- Dovetail with the capabilities of the parish Facebook account, which excels at immediate in-the-moment notifications
- Provide timely information to the parish without constantly changing the structure of the website
Parish News is going on hiatus
No further articles are currently planned, and nobody wants to continually see old news. So the block of “most recent articles” was removed from the front page.
Parish News is still accessible from the website top menu. No prior articles have been deleted.
