Resumption of Mass: Letter from Fr. Joy

Masses resume June 1, 2020, with restrictions mandated by the Archdiocese

27 May 2020

Dear Parishioners and Friends,

Greeting of Peace, joy and hope of Pentecost! I am extremely happy and grateful to inform you all the following information.

It was a tough time for all of us as we were separated from each other and from the public celebration of the Holy Mass. But God is always kind enough to listen to the prayers of millions of His people around the world. No doubt that our prayers are also heard.

As a result, we are now able to return to our Parish Church to attend both weekday and weekend Masses from June 1, 2020 onwards.

The Archdiocese of Edmonton has announced that we may return to celebrating Mass, with Archdiocesan directives and in accordance with the Alberta Health Department restrictions in the First stage.

Masses will begin on June 1, 2020 (Monday). The Mass times will be as follows for the time being (STAGE ONE):

  • Mondays – (normally no Mass), with the exception of June 1, the memorial of the Blessed Virgin Mary, the Mother of the Church – 7pm
  • Tuesdays – 7pm Mass
  • Wednesdays – 9am
  • Thursdays – 7pm
  • Fridays – 7pm
  • Saturdays – 5pm and 7pm
  • Sundays – 9am and 11am

NOTE: For the time being, due to various concerns, Masses will ONLY be celebrated at Holy Name Church in Vermilion in the First Stage and confessions ONLY with prior appointments.

For registering or if you have any questions regarding this you can call the Parish office. 780.853.5161

Blessings and Regards,

Fr. Joy Vadakkan CFIC
